Hi Everybody! My name is Dood and I’m about 4 years old. I was taken to a shelter by my family because I would snap at them when they fed me. While in the shelter I was pretty stressed and did make contact with the feeding lady and caused her to get a couple stitches but I felt really, really bad. I just wanted her to put my food dish down and let me eat. I weigh about 106 pounds, am neutered, up to date on all my vaccines and have a microchip. I do have a little bit of a high prey drive so not cats, small dogs or farm livestock please. I think I would love to live with big kids since that’s what my previous family had. I love that I have my god given long tail – I think it’s cool. My family thought I might have some Shar Pei in me because of my puffy face. My foster mom thinks maybe some Labrador but me, I just think I’m pretty darned cute.
I bet I have one of the longest tongues you’ve even seen and I’m a pretty large boy. While I’ve been with my foster mom in Riverton, Wyoming, I have not tried to bite her when she feeds me. What I really prefer is that you just ask me to sit, then you set my food down and leave – I do best eating that way. My foster mom asks me for a kiss after she sits my food down and I happily oblige but that’s certainly not necessary. My foster mom thinks that maybe I had been teased before when being fed and that’s why I don’t like a lot of extra nonsense when eating. Please just ask me to sit, place my bowl in front of me and move your hand. My foster mom could show you how I like to be fed!!
I have done well with most other dogs, and I don’t try to jump the fence. I really prefer to spend most of my time inside where it’s warm and currently I use a doggie door to go in and out to my fenced area. My foster mom is very happy with me because I’ve never soiled my kennel area. She gets a little frustrated when I grab her gloves and then run off to throw them in the air and play but I always give them back when she asks. I also like a blanket to sleep with. I could be a pretty good couch potato too!
Mom thinks I would do best in a home without a lot of other animals and with someone that can provide me with a large yard or proper exercise and has experience with large rottweilers. Of course, I’d really like a couch in the house to hang out on and watch tv with my new best friend.
If you think you could be my best friend, please call my foster mom at 307/850-8847 or you can email her at: rottsrus@wyoming.com
I’m currently living in Riverton, Wyoming.
