Our dogs love lying on their Kuranda beds. They keep them off of cold drafty floors during the winter and provides excellent ventilation in the hot summer months.
Though they benefit greatly from Kuranda beds, we don't have enough for everyone. If you would like to donate a bed at a special wholesale price so another rescue dog can sleep in comfort, you can do so directly from the Kuranda web site.
Talk about a survivor and an inspiration - that's what you'll see when you meet Buckie. He came to us from a rescue in MT who'd rescued him off a reservation. We and they aren't sure exactly what happened to him in his previous life but it appears someone either tried to use this sweet boy in dog fighting or he was horribly torn up by a pack of dogs. He had injuries all over his body, he was in horrible conditon. His neck was chewed up all the way around as well as other similar injuries to his body. He had huge gaping wounds to his back legs, was full of worms and basically in pretty nasty shape. But guess what? This boy loves people and other dogs - he's so happy! He holds no grudges and is simply ready to move forward in the next chapter of his life knowing that whatever that might be ahead it cannot be as bad as it was before.
After weeks of lazer therapy all over on his body, he is finally healed. He's putting on weight and struts around with great pride. He's learning to come when called and to walk on leash. He's so happy for attention and to be comforted by his foster mom, he likes to lay with his head in her lap.
Blood work indicated that he has the herpes virus which he will have forever but it's not causing him any problems and likely won't. Even if it does it simply to deal with. His foster mom is currently giving him L-Lysine for the herpes virus, a cheap and inexpensive vitamin.
He runs like a gazelle and bounces like a white tail dear and prances with his front feet. He is so loving and will express to you just how happy he is that he was saved from the horrors he previously indured.
Buckie looks no where but forward from now on.
