Brode is a brand new dog coming into our rescue.   He is currently being evaluated and we will have more information about him soon.

What we do know about him currently is that he does not like cats.
Update:   Brode is a very nice boy, was great around some kids at my house the other day, good with people, and pretty good with most other dogs.   Brode really wants to please his human and will do whatever he can to be by your side.  He definately needs a fenced yard as he doesn't come when called and likes to wander but that can easily be corrected when he bonds with his new owner.
Brode is a ball playing fool!   He loves chasing a ball around.

01/29/2010 - Brode came to Doggy Bootcamp on 01/17/2010.  He is a very active, high energy boy who had pretty much no manners when he came.  He would jump on you and bolt before you could even try and do anything to stop him.  In just two short weeks, however, Brode has become, if not a model citizen, a well mannered, young man, who now understands he needs to exercise some self control and not bounce off people like a ping-pong ball.  He heels nicely on leash, using a martingale collar, sits, lays down and comes on command, he waits at the door and for his food.  He is definately a leaner and just craves affection and attention.  He is also learning that it is not polite to wedge your head between a person's legs and just shove your way through.  He will still gently push sometimes, but a verbal no stops him.  He is very athletic and still very much a puppy in how he acts, although he has come a long way.  He is very food motivated and would make a great agility dog, running partner, skijoring dog or anything else.  He is not nervous around new things or experiences and adapts well to change.  He does have extremely high prey drive so homes with cats, small dogs, and livestock are not recommended for him.  He has a wonderful personality and is very people oriented.  He will bark when something strange goes on outside, but will be quiet when told to stop.  Brode, will need continued obedience practice, bootcamp has only started him on the right track and made him manageable for people who have experience with large dogs.  My 11-year old daughter loves Brode and he is very good with her.  His energy level probably wouldn't be great for small children as he has a tendancy to bounce when excited and could easily bump a small child and knock them down.  Brode will work for toys as well as food so training is fun for both him and the handler.
Brodi likes everyone, including children, however, he is very rambunctious and bumps into people if you aren't on top of him all the time.  I don't think he is a good choice for kids under the age of 8 or 9, because he is so energetic and will knock them over easily.
