I want to give you all an UPDATE from my new foster Mom.
She says I am very sweet and have actually jumped for joy a few times.  I look everyone in the eye now and seem a great deal more confident.

I know "sit, down, off, come, and get back" (like when I crawl in the front seat of the car when you go into a store).  We are working on stay.  I stay about 1 minute while  my food is being prepared but I still get nervous and jump about in other situations when asked to stay.  We will continue to work on it.

I am very good on and off leash, come when called, except when those pesky squirrels are around.

I have been exposed to a plethora of situations and have done very well.  One of the places I visited over Christmas was very dog friendly.  I would lay quietly in the office or be up greeting customers.  I was even used in therapy to get a young patient interested in walking (I would walk with him 1 mile).  I could really get into that kind of work.
I do well in public places, busy kennels, Petsmart, groups of people walking dogs.  I want to play with other dogs but still learning how.  I tend towards the little mop dogs and they are terrified of my size except the few I've met that were raised with large dogs.  I even enjoyed my bath and think I look great!!

I load well and ride very quietly in the car.  As stated before, I like to sneak into the front seat and try my hand at driving; what dog doesn't?

I have not shown any serious acts of aggression.  I do growl (low growl without bearing teeth) around any food bowls, bones, etc.  but remove myself from the situation and take my bone elsewhere.  My foster Mom has been having friends bring their dogs over to the house to see how protective I am of my territory and I am fine except for the above. I had two accidents in the house the first three weeks but have done well since and now ask to go out.

My foster Mom says I still need to work on these things.   When outside, I will chase (from behind the fence) loud trucks and vans.  I have squirrel brain (whatever that is) and don't respond to you when focusing on the little critter.  She says I am getting better now, but would yelp if you did a surprise rub of my butt (esp the hip bones).  I love being a couch potato but do not like being on the bed and love having my own bed.

My foster mom says I am a great dog and will make some family very happy.  I have not been evaluated around cats and I think with children they should be over 5 years old because of my size.  I have met quite a few 5 and over and give them kisses.

Update
Chyna is a quiet girl, that is on the shy side. Once she has figured out the routine, then she starts coming out of her shell. She likes going for walks and is good on leash and is easy to correct with just your voice. Quiet in the house, and will just find a spot to lay by you for loves. She is good with other dogs, and with older children. she is also crate trained.

Chyna just came to BSRR from the Kootenai County Humane Society in Coeur d'Alene, ID and is a sweet quiet girl.  She gets along with other dogs, and is good in the house.  More will be posted as we get to know her.
