Our dogs love lying on their Kuranda beds. They keep them off of cold drafty floors during the winter and provides excellent ventilation in the hot summer months.
Though they benefit greatly from Kuranda beds, we don't have enough for everyone. If you would like to donate a bed at a special wholesale price so another rescue dog can sleep in comfort, you can do so directly from the Kuranda web site.

Malcolm and his friends Dexter and Harry were abandoned and are all in great need of groceries. They have all been starved and abused. Malcolm seems to be the one that was most abused - judging by his behavior so far. He is in need of someone that will take their time with him and work with him slowly. He gets along best with females - he is very scared of men. We will know more as soon as we have these dogs in our foster care. Please check back for updates.
***Malcolm is being evaluated, and we believe he would do best in a home with either a retired couple (no children), or a single female. Poor Malcolm is extremely afraid of men. What could have happened to him in his past? We will continue to do our best to keep you up to date on Malcolm's progress!
****UPDATE****
3/8 Malcolm has won the hearts of everyone that has met him at Best Friends. He even accepted a treat from the hand of a man he had just met! Malcolm is not interested in any of the kitties of the household. He is getting along well with all the other dogs in the home. He has come out of his shell, but still has a long road ahead.
A member of Best Friends Animal Sanctuary that helped with Malcolm's transport has asked to be able to foster him. He has tugged at her heartstrings and she just can't forget him. He has touched her in a profound way and she wants to be able to help him to become the dog we know can be. Please join us in wishing Malcolm well with his new foster Mom Whitney. Thank you Whitney from all of us at BSRR!
Please check back for more updates on Malcolm's progress! UPDATE: Malcolm has met a couple that is very interested in adopting him! Whitney reports that Malcolm likes them! He will be going to their home for a "test drive" just to make sure that he is happy there. Malcolm is just so happy to be well taken care of and fed on a regular basis. He has relaxed enough and now trusts Whitney. She will make sure he has a super forever home - and if it doesn't work for Malcolm - he will come back to her! Stay tuned for more updates!
FINAL UPDATE 3/29/2010:
Whitney reports that Malcolm has been in his new forever home for 3 weeks now. All is going just wonderful! Malcolm had a few moments of angst with the male of the home, but is now becoming best buddies with him. The lady of the home is totally in love with Malcolm and he with her. We are happy to let everyone know that the horrible situation of Malcolm's past - is just that - in the past. He has only good things ahead of him from the moment that our rescue friend, Liz removed him from the shelter, and gave Malcolm a new life without any more abuse or starvation. Thank you so much Liz for saving this boy so that he could go on to live a new happy life where he is well fed, warm, and loved unconditionally!
