Hi, I am Roxy and have been told I am very sweet. At my photo shoot I was told I was photogenic also.
But, in my previous life, I was not well socialized. I am not dog aggressive, but other dogs scare me when they want to play. I am a smaller girl and just afraid they might hurt me. I am not a worldly girl and am seeing and learning about new things everyday. My foster Mom doesn't think I am quite ready for my new home yet, but we are working together to get me ready.
I know how to sit but I haven't learned to walk well on a leash yet because I want to be so close to you that I'm constantly trying to climb in your lap. With the right person, I could possibly go to a new home, but I need someone that will work with me and make me feel secure and loved.
So check back for updates. When I am ready, I know I will make you the best friend ever.

I am being walked on a leash now and am doing much better.  I really want to please and look foward to that good girl treat.  I am still somewhat clingy, but am learning what off means.  I have a buddy that I am playing with and do pretty well, but then we get excited and I get scared, but learning.
I am doing better on leash, but my foster mom says I definitely need some more confidence in myself, so we are working on making me more confident.  I no longer snatch at treats, I take them very nicely.  I have to sit quietly before I can get out of my kennel and I am learning to use the dog door.

8-2-10 update. I use the dog door now at will, but like to be inside.  I have conquered water from the hose, that was scary, now I just want to chase the water, but don't like being sprayed yet.  I can now put my face in a bucket, I have found there is nothing at the bottom that will get me.  I am meeting new people and am doing OK with that. I am getting to be an explorer and it feels pretty good, I brought my foster mom back a snake skin the other day and I am a good grasshopper chaser.  I thought they were going to eat me at first.

UPDATE! UPDATE!
Wow, wait til you hear this.  I was able to go to a socialization party at a house with 15 cats and 3 other dogs.  I walked in the house and right by the cats.  I first met a very energetic male who couldn't stop kissing me.  Then I met a daschund, then they added an older chow.  I did well with all of them, even when it was 3 on one.  I also was very good with the man and woman whom I just met. My foster Mom and Dad were very impressed.
I was asked to return the next day for more socialization.  This time my foster Mom left me with the man and three dogs.  The lady came home and she let me in the house.  I m a great LAP dog.  I got to sit in both their laps on the couch.  But I must confess, I was bad.  When one of their kitties came for attention, I thought I had to protect the lady and lunged at the cat, boy was I in trouble.
As you can see, I am getting confident and am learning to trust again.  My foster Mom says I am ready for my new forever home, but she says she will be picky because she wants me to continue with my confidence and trusting in confident patient hands.  She thinks it best that I go into a home without a dog so I can continue down the right path.  Maybe later I can have a brother or sister.
