Our dogs love lying on their Kuranda beds. They keep them off of cold drafty floors during the winter and provides excellent ventilation in the hot summer months.
Though they benefit greatly from Kuranda beds, we don't have enough for everyone. If you would like to donate a bed at a special wholesale price so another rescue dog can sleep in comfort, you can do so directly from the Kuranda web site.
Roddy is a 2-3 yr. old Rottweiler/Heeler/Samoyed/Shih Tzu X cross confirmed by a DNA test. He has been at the Lewis and Clark Humane Society in Helena over a year and counting. He was initially abandoned in an apartment. Finally he was adopted and returned for high energy after 5 months. He gets along famously with some dogs including small friendly dogs. As far as cats it's a no go. At times he meets a dog he doesn't care for. He is a working breed and loves to exercise daily. Generally he hikes for 1-2 hours 5 days a week. He is a working man and when he gets bored he will chase cars and bicycles wheels so a 6 foot fence (privacy would be best) or country living is a must away from traffic. He will have to be on leash at all times in town due to his propensity for cars and bicycles. He is very loving and loyal to his person and aims to please. He has been clicker trained and knows how to loose leash walk, sit, stay, down, come and shake. He would love nothing more to crawl in your lap, sleep in your bed and play ball all night long. He's a bit much in the car but surprisingly he can't wait to ride in the car. He's very sensitive to being not pleasing to you so he gets his feelings hurt easily. He wants to be accepted more than anything and he has a tender heart. Roddy is looking for a family with teens 16 on up due to his jumping up and exuberance or a couple that has lots of time for him. He never gets tired of following his person around and wants to be by your side through thick and thin. Foster care is available after adoption for 10 days a year free of charge due to his inability to cope with shelter or kennel life. If you would like to see a video or have an interest in Roddy please contact Loreen@onewest.net or 439-7841. He's had a very hard life and we are looking for some special person to turn his luck around. Please contact Loreen if you have any other questions on this special guy.
