This boy sounds like he would do well in a home that understands that Rottweilers need an alpha parent. You may contact his current owner about his adoption
This is Dexter – a 7 y/o, neutered, docked male Rotweiller. 7 years old going on 3! He is purebred, papered and came from a breeder in Georgia. He is 105 lbs and 28” at the shoulders. Taller and leaner than most male Rotties (but don’t let him get fat!). He LOVES to fetch, kiss, go for truck/car rides, does not chew. He is VERY playful, energetic and all male. He needs a strong Alpha leader with time and persistence to train. He is not aggressive, but like a big, dorky offensive lineman that needs to be constantly corrected. He is extremely healthy, but does get ear infections and has to be on a grain free diet. This is not negotiable. It is about $100 / month. He began his life in Kalispell Montana where he stayed for 3 years until his owners decided he was “too much” for them. He was adopted by his current owner, dog unseen, without knowing he is not very patient with kids. He has never bitten anyone, but has nipped at “handsy” kids. He is just not very patient. He is good with cats if he is managed and introduced properly. Very responsive to a shock collar and strong verbal commands. In fact, there are times when he needs both. He is a great housedog, will hold his bladder and just sleep in his bed until you get home. He prefers for you to come home at lunch and throw the ball a little so he’s not so hyper at night. He just gets very excited at people, squirrels…any kind of external “Fun”.
