Big Sky Rottweiler Rescue was established in 1997. Our goal is to re-home unwanted Rottweilers and educate the public about the breed.
Who we are
We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and donations are tax deductible. Most of us are located in Montana, but we help Rottweilers in Montana, Wyoming and Idaho, and try to help in Colorado and North and South Dakota. We do adopt to qualified applicants in Canada.
All of our rescue personnel are volunteers. We do not receive monetary compensation for the time donated to this organization: the funds go toward the cost of rescuing the dogs, including shelter fees, boarding, medical care, training and transportation.
How we care for our dogs
All of our adoptable dogs are evaluated in our foster homes, spayed or neutered and up to date on vaccinations. We do not place aggressive dogs or dogs with reported bite incidents, and after adoption we are always available to assist and advise our adoptive families in every way we can.
Our history
March 2017 marked the 20th anniversary of Big Sky Rottweiler Rescue. To commemorate the milestone, our founder, Troy Kechely, created a video showcasing many of the dogs BSRR has found forever homes for (watch on YouTube). Five years later we celebrated our 25th year of saving Rottweilers.
