Just this side of Heaven is a place called RainbowBridge
When an animal dies - one that has been especially close to someone here - that pet goes to RainbowBridge. There are meadows and hills for our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food and water, sunshine and cozy beds, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing: they each miss someone very special, someone who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; his eager body quivers. Suddenly, he breaks from the group, flying over the green grass - his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain on your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet - so long gone but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross the RainbowBridge together.

Tish
Tish was a sweet girl and just loved to go for walks and be with people. She was very quiet and loving. Tish passed on with bloat on Nov 03, 2003. Tish touched everyone she met with her gentle personality.
Dan
One of our members first brought Dan home when he was 8 weeks old. Dan's sire was a Rottweiler who's job was to "protect the camp" when his owner was up hunting. Dan's mother was a Redbone Hound. This is from Dan's adoptive family: We started fostering Dan 2/26/05, officially adopted him 5/7/05 and lost him 7/3/07. Dan was 3 yrs. old when we got him.
Dan got very sick fast, had two sets of blood work done, xrays and an ultra sound done. He had a very large mass on his liver. Our vet gave him only 10 percent chance of making it through surgery....the mass was just too big and too far gone. His advice was to make Dan's last days the best we could and that's what we did. I was by his side day and night til the end.......Russ and I both were with him when he went.....I held his head and told him how much I loved him and how proud I was of him....he went quietly. He was very special and will always be in our hearts. We were sooo very lucky to have found him and only wish he was still here with us, we miss him dearly.
Rio
Rio - rescued and helped to ease his fear aggression, he blew out his knee and was diagnosed with hip dysplasia. After two falied surgeries to help him, he was helped to the Bridge by his loving family. Rio was only 3 years old - much too young to leave us, but he now waits at the Bridge for his family.
