Just this side of Heaven is a place called RainbowBridge

When an animal dies - one that has been especially close to someone here - that pet goes to RainbowBridge. There are meadows and hills for our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food and water, sunshine and cozy beds, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing: they each miss someone very special, someone who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; his eager body quivers. Suddenly, he breaks from the group, flying over the green grass - his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain on your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet - so long gone but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross the
RainbowBridge together.

Jake
"Jake was as sweet and loyal as a Rott could be. He slept by my bed every night with his head up on the bed so I could stroke his big sweet face. He was a clown, he loved to chase thunder, and helped the kids get out of piano practice by barking and biting at the keys when they played. We all miss you Jake and we know you must finally have caught that thunder up there in doggie heaven." - Tina (Jake's Mom)

Libby
In our early days together, Libby love to run through the house and play with her toys. She loved it when I would toss a toy in the air so she could grab it and go running around. She always sensed my needs and was there for me. When I was not feeling well, she would put her head in my lap and patiently stay by my side. When I felt frightened when we were at home alone while Gene was away during hunting season, should would stay by my side with her head up alert to any noise or change. Libby seldom barked, but when she did, there was a reason for her bark. And what a big bark for such a pretty baby girl. When we had to travel back and forth to California before the business was closed, she was such a good travel companion. Oh how she loved to go bye bye. When I asked her if she wanted to go bye bye, she would do her happy dance. I would say give me a kiss if you want to go bye bye and she would touch her nose to my cheek or my lips and give me a kiss. She never did mouth my hand or lick me, but she would give me a kiss when she wanted to go bye bye. Whenever I returned to her whether it was returning to the car or returning home, when she saw me her face would light up and she would wiggle with happiness and do her happy dance at seeing me again. During the last couple of weeks, when she tried to do her happy dance when she greeted me, she fell a few times because her hindquarters would not cooperate with her desire to show me how happy she was that I was back with her again. I know you understand the heartache and pain I feel now. I know I had to let her go because she was in such pain but oh how it hurts to not have her physical presence with me but I do feel her spirit with me. She will always be in my heart. Thank you, Kathy, for rescuing Libby and keeping her safe until we found each other.

Ally - River
River is now waiting for me at Rainbow Bridge. I want to thank you for sharing her with me - River brought such joy to my life and I am so grateful that she could spend that last year of her life with me as we had a great deal of fun! During the past year, she traveled with me throughout the US to the Smoky Mountains where we hiked and darted in and out of rivers and waterfalls! We drove up the east coast to Maine where she swam in the Atlantic Ocean, and into Quebec where she played on the beach almost every day. She was a fantastic dog with a heart of gold! Kids loved her and she was always so gentile and sweet! She was a great ambassador for the breed and I will miss her immensely!
