Just this side of Heaven is a place called RainbowBridge

When an animal dies - one that has been especially close to someone here - that pet goes to RainbowBridge. There are meadows and hills for our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food and water, sunshine and cozy beds, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing: they each miss someone very special, someone who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; his eager body quivers. Suddenly, he breaks from the group, flying over the green grass - his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain on your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet - so long gone but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross the
RainbowBridge together.

Candi
Candi joined our family on 3/1/12. She loved us all, but she truly was a daddy's girl. When she saw him, she would talk & wag her tail until he'd pet & talked to her. She would go to bed when he went to bed & eat her food only when he sat down to eat his. Even though he came home from work on different days & different times, she knew when he'd be home. She'd lay in front of the door, in the middle of the walkway & wait for him. Heaven forbid if he left, then didn't pet & talk with her! Upon his return, she'd ignore him & she made sure he knew it. If dad was sleeping in, then she'd take her food dish in her mouth, go to the bedroom & eat (always 1 piece at a time). She would get on the couch also with it an hardly ever spilled a piece. She loved to chase her tail in another room only if she was by herself & she'd quit if anyone came in. We called her Miss Candi Sue & only her dad could call her Candi Cane. She touched many hearts...we all miss her a lot, even Jordan, her buddy, who also joined our family the same day. Our vet has made a donation to The Arbor Foundation in memory of Candi, who was laid to rest on 2/2/17. 10 trees will be planted & registered in Tahoe National Forest. Until we all meet again at the Rainbow Bridge ❤️.

Champ
Champ was an ambassador to the breed and represented the best of the Rottweiler’s character and spirit. I was blessed to have him in my life for 10 great years. Champ was loyal, loving and always by my side and was a true companion to me and seemingly everyone he met. I believe Champ brought me to a point where he knew another Rottweiler was going to take care of me and has now passed the torch to Luna as he trusts her to watch over me as he did for all those years.. A Rottweiler’s love is a gift and Champ’s love was the greatest gift I’ve ever received. Champ was born on February 15th 2005 and past on May 11th 2015. I’m happy you’re at peace and watching over me from the Rainbow Bridge. Love always – Bill Adams and all my family back in Massachusetts.

Chaos
Chaos - She was the most wonderful companion - ever the puppy even at 11 yrs. old. As sore as she with bone cancer she would still play with her red ball and sit with it. She lived for the moment and didn't worry about whether playing was going to cause stiffness and pain later. Her sheer joy at finding that silly red ball was a sight to see. ...She taught me a lot with that red ball.

Cuda - Other Half of "The Twisted Sisters"
Cuda, the second half of "The Twisted Sisters". Loved companion of Denise and sister to Fuzzy. It was time for you to go meet your sister and Mother, Quincy, at the rainbow bridge. It was hard to let you go, but it was time. You will be missed by your loving Mom, Denise. All of BSRR will miss both of the "Twisted Sisters". God speed Cuda, until we meet again.

Cyrus
We did not rescue you, you rescued us. Your flame will burn eternally in our hearts. The joy you brought into our home and the bond we had will never pass away. You were a truly remarkable and resilient dog who's personality was priceless. Cyrus passed away on Friday September 4th, 2009. He was battling a serious rapid spinal degeneration that was leading to full paralysis. The medications to help give him freedom of movement (we hoped) took their toll and all we could hope for was one more day. When Cyrus was diagnosed the Vet gave him six weeks. He made it 3 months and for that we are grateful. Cyrus was the epitome of a Rottweiler whom showed his gratitude for a forever home. He loved people and animals and was well loved by all whom met him. He showed this community that the Rottweiler's negative reputation was simply how the dog was trained and cared for. He was able to educate many whom met him on the merits of Rottweiler Rescue as well as the wonderful and true nature of a well trained Rottweiler. His time with us was short, much to short. Yet, in that short time of 3 years he was given a home where he was loved and cared for and he returned the same to us a hundred fold. We miss him a great deal and our home and lives feel empty without him. He convinced us that it was our responsibility to do the same for another, to home another Rescue in need. We plan on adopting again, there are so many out there that need forever homes and with Cyrus we learned so much about how rapidly a dog can recover from a life of abuse and become an integral part of a family. GOOD BYE MY BUDDY, YOU MAY BE GONE BUT NEVER FORGOTTEN.
